In this post, I’m taking you with me as I boo, or spook, our neighbors. It’s Halloween boo-ing time!

Let me start by explaining what “booing” is for those of you not sure, it’s kind of like a ring-and-run. You leave a basket/bucket of Halloween-themed fun anonymously on someone’s doorstep. Important to add a sheet with a few directions to keep the boo going (pay the boo forward).

You can customize this to the family if you happen to know them and their likes. Some suggested avoiding candy since we all know Halloween already brings lots of that and if you don’t know someone’s allergies, but that is your call. A few people have shared with me that their go-to’s are adding crafts.

I’m going to admit this is my first-time boo-ing and I have never been “boo-ed” so I want to do it right! So I did a little Pinterest inspiration search as well as a search for the free printables.

So, come with me I take you Halloween shopping with me at Target, Walmart, and Michaels to show you the possibilities you can get to boo. But if you are budget aware, I have some ideas to make it a little bit more budget-friendly with ideas for your Halloween treat gifting. I’ll show you what is going on in my booing package and how I do it.

I started with Target because they have a “Boo-ing Supplies” section. Though some of it might not be the cheapest, there are a lot of items and ideas right there in one section. They have the vessels, bags, buckets, and even the “you’ve been boo-ed” notes right there.

Next had to go to Michaels. Of course, they had the perfect craft kits, Halloween party supply selection, and even cute decor options if you know the adults of the house. Lots of little trinkets and options. Plus, they always have coupons and sales so it’s a good budget-friendly option. They do a big Halloween clearance sale towards the end of the season if you want to stock up and be ready for next year.

Next, I had to pop into Walmart to see what they had. I have to say not a lot as far as tiny trinkets, but they take the cake as far as baking supplies! They also were a good option for those adult boo-bucket options, with lots of puns.

So I went with the more classic pumpkin bucket idea from Target. Some of the Halloween Funfetti baking from Walmart to be something to do as a family. And some candy, I know, I know, but I had to! I also had to add Candy Corn, hehe. Some peeler crafts from Michaels, and of course the important “Boo-ed” printouts, including one to hang on their door letting people know they’ve already been boo-ed.

Due to everyone having Ring Cameras these days, I may have also worn a mask during my drop-off … I don’t think I was caught.

Have you tried boo-ing yet? Tell me about it in the comments.
